Description

High above Sarajevo, on the edge of the dramatic Rakitnica Canyon, lies Lukomir — the highest and most isolated village in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This full-day experience takes you deep into the Dinaric Alps, where stone houses, grazing sheep, and sweeping mountain views define the landscape.

Lukomir is not a museum village — it is a living community shaped by centuries of tradition. As we walk through its narrow paths, you’ll learn about the village’s history, seasonal migrations, and the resilience of the people who still call it home.

The journey itself is part of the experience: panoramic mountain roads, open plateaus, and fresh alpine air accompany us throughout the day. This is Bosnia at its most authentic — raw, beautiful, and deeply rooted in tradition.

Includes
  • Guided day trip to Lukomir

  • Cultural and historical commentary

  • Transportation from Sarajevo

  • Optional traditional lunch (if booked in advance)

Good to know
  • Weather conditions in the mountains can change quickly.

  • Some walking on uneven terrain is required.
