Food is an extension of everything Bosnians are — traditions, identity, family history and shared memories. To truly experience Bosnian culture through food, nothing matches a sač barbecue night at a local family’s house.
With fresh seasonal ingredients you’ll pick up at the local market, you’ll learn how to prepare one of the most authentic Bosnian meals — slow-cooked under the iron sač bell with meat and vegetables. As the food slowly cooks (about 90 minutes), you’ll be invited to ask questions, enjoy local wine and beer, taste a platter of mezze, and engage with your hosts.
You’ll come as a guest and leave as a friend — welcomed into Bosnian life and cuisine in a way few other experiences can match
