What to expect

Spend an evening in the garden of a local Sarajevo family and enjoy a relaxed Bosnian cooking class “under the Sač.”

Located in the Grbavica neighborhood, Mahmut and Mirsada – the parents of .Cheyf founder Nerminwelcome guests into their home, where they spend almost every summer evening at the grill. In their outdoor kitchen, they share their favorite family recipes with you.

Together, we’ll prepare some of Bosnia’s most beloved dishes. Learn how to make traditional Pita from scratch and how to grill Ćevapčići perfectly. Fresh Mezze, salads, and drinks – wine, beer, or rakija – complete the meal.

The cooking class is a mix of watching and hands-on participation: some preparations are already done to make your evening relaxed, but during grilling and finishing the dishes, everyone joins in. While the food cooks, there’s plenty of time to chat about Bosnian food culture, family recipes, and daily life in Sarajevo. At the end, we gather around the family table in the garden to enjoy our creations – freshly grilled Ćevapčići, homemade Pita, a seasonal dessert, and Bosnian coffee.

Groups are intentionally small (max. 8 guests) to keep the evening personal and ensure time for questions, learning, and sharing stories.
