What to expect
The spirit of the Olympic Games, a hike in nature, and stunning viewpoints: this tour is the perfect mix of history, sightseeing, and activity.
We start in the heart of Sarajevo at Vijećnica and take the cable car up to the city’s home mountain, Trebević. In just 10 minutes, we’re over 1,000 meters above sea level, in the middle of nature, ready to begin our easy, family-friendly hike back to the starting point.
Your tour highlight is definitely the abandoned bobsleigh track from the 1984 Winter Olympics, which we’ll walk along for about 1.5 kilometers. Built for the Olympic Games, it’s now a Lost Place full of graffiti and murals – a kind of open-air museum.
Your guide brings the spirit of the Olympics back to life with stories and videos, and also shares insights and facts about the Siege of Sarajevo. Along the way, you’ll discover the best photo spots, the track’s coolest murals, and a nearly unknown favorite spot of .Cheyf.
Halfway through, we pause at a local restaurant to enjoy snacks and a drink with a view, soaking in the scenery before making the final descent through the Mahalas, Sarajevo’s historic Ottoman neighborhoods.
Our groups are intentionally small (maximum 8 guests) so you can fully immerse yourself in the city. This hike is designed to feel more like an exploration with a local friend than a tour. By the end, you’ll feel less like a tourist and more like someone who truly knows the city.
