What to expect
Step off the usual tourist path and experience Sarajevo in a way most travellers never do: This hidden Sarajevo city tour combines a hike through Sarajevo's quiet streets, rich history, unforgettable views, and authentic hillside neighborhoods — the city’s real “Mahalas.”
See the Sarajevo City Hall from above, step outside the usual sights like the Latin Bridge or Baščaršija and discover the true heart of the city: the Mahalas, the old Ottoman neighborhoods of the old town, where everyday life happens.
Along the way, you will taste typical Bosnian snacks. Your guide shares personal anecdotes about the history of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the siege of Sarajevo, and the resilient spirit of its people. You’ll see hidden gems, secret viewpoints, and local street art, and experience the rhythm of everyday Sarajevo life.
This is not a typical sightseeing city tour — it’s more like spending an afternoon with a local friend, exploring both the familiar and the unexpected, and walking away with a deeper sense of the city’s heart. That's why the tour ends with a typical Bosnian lunch in one of our favorite restaurants because you can't visit Sarajevo without tasting its food.
Groups are deliberately small so your guide can unravel Sarajevo's complex history and you can enjoy a unique experience.
