Day by day itinerary

Are you ready to explore Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Northwest? A region that deserves so much more attention and that we cannot wait to see you falling in love with!

Today, you finally board your flight to Banja Luka – Bosnia’s second-biggest city, full of green alleys, great cafés and historical sites. After checking into your accommodation, we’ll give you a moment to rest and freshen up before we all meet up for welcome drinks in the evening, setting the tone for the week ahead.

Included meals: Breakfast, Wine Tasting, Late Lunch

The day kicks off with a guided city tour of Banja Luka, revealing its rich history and culture. We end our tour by riding one of Banja Luka’s traditional boats, the dajaks, on Vrbas river – the technique to navigate the treacherous rapids of the river might just become UNESCO world heritage! After the tour, you have time to soak in the city’s vibe by yourself for a bit.

In the afternoon, we meet again for a wine-tasting experience and local dinner at a Banja Luka boutique winery, savouring all the local flavours this region has to offer. Well-fed and a bit tipsy, we treat yourselves to a relaxing evening at the natural thermal springs just outside the city – you thought those only exist in Iceland? We can’t wait to show you otherwise!

INCLUDED MEALS: BREAKFAST

Let’s bid farewell to Banja Luka for now and head towards Jajce – the old town of Bosnian kings! Along the way, we’ll have a lot of beautiful things planned for you!

  • We will visit the ladies keeping the UNESCO world heritage of snake embroidery alive in their workshop and see how the delicate art is made
  • We stop at the unique wooden Orthodox churches that are unique for this region
  • We take the time for a short hike at Krupa na Vrbasu’s old watermills. The village has just been awarded as one of the most beautiful villages of the country – and we can’t wait to show you why!

We make it to Jajce in the late afternoon. After check-in, you can just stroll around, enjoy the night, soak in the atmosphere and of course visit the famous Pliva waterfall – and we will show you the best place from where to snap the iconic photo of course!

INCLUDED MEALS: BREAKFAST,

Kicking off the day with a guided city tour in Jajce – a city brimming with history, from being the capital of the Bosnian Kingdom to having been the birthplace of Yugoslavia.

A short walk takes us to the watermills of Mlinčići – 400 years of history located at countless fresh, little streams. We will spend the whole afternoon in the area where you can rent a boat, a SUP, take a walk or just chill in one of the beach bars by the Pliva lakes.

INCLUDED MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH

The journey towards Bihać is a memorable one with meadows and sinkholes stretching to the horizon. We interrupt our journey with a local farm-to-table lunch at an Ethno Village halfway throughout our journey.

After check-in, the afternoon is yours to explore the charms of Bihać at your own pace. We will recommend a few restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Krajina dishes tonight.

INCLUDED MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH

We don’t think we exaggerate when we say: Una Nationalpark is the jewel of Northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. And the best way to explore its beauty is surely from the waters of Una river. We kayak along the blue heart of the country, enjoy lunch on the riverbanks and visit two of the most beautiful waterfalls of the country.

The evening sees a return to Bihac for a relaxing dinner.

INCLUDED MEALS: BREAKFAST, DINNER

Almost time to end your trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina – but not quite yet. Today’s scenic drive holds quite a few surprises still: From Ostrozac castle to a hike to Bliha waterfall and a stroll through Bosanska Krupa – you get to choose which one is your highlight!

After spending a day in the car, we get together one more time to celebrate the wonderful memories and friends we made this week in a friends’ garden in a village close to Banja Luka.
